I know this is a simple question, but when stem setting my Waltham, 0 sz 15 jewel pocket watch, should the hands move "clockwise". This one I have, moves "counter-clockwise".

I would think if you turn the crown one way the hands would go in that direction. You turn in the opposite direction, hands turn in opposite direction.

Veritas, that does make sense to me also, but when moving the crown forward, the hands move backwards and if moving the crown backwards, the hands move forward. Seems a bit odd to me.??? Does this affect the proper working of the watch?

The direction the hands move is a function of the manufacturer's design. Most Walthams that I've examined move backwards as do many modern ETA movements. It's just a matter of learning the idiosyncrasy of the watch.
