I have checked the Hampden Watch co. book and Henry's database and the information in neither match the watch. Any thoughts on this one..

It is an 18s hunter, marked "16 jeweles". I wonder if anyone has any information on what grade it might be, or other information about it.

Try the database again

http://www.nawcc-ch149.com/pw_dbresearch.html

The db entry was changed, sometime in the past, once I saw this watch onsale to reflect its characteristics and realized my initial entry was not correct (The Hampden book is no help on this one )

The current entry reads - 18S-16J Grade 44- HC - Nickel - Model 2 - Unadjusted.

Just a note on the grade 44
It is listed as being produced in 15 J, 16 J, and 17 J variations.

I have not recorded any 15 J variations at this time, and few 16 J observations. Most of the grade production numbers are 17 J.

While at the database main page, check out the Hampden Jewel listing for the Total Hampden 16 Jewel Estimate. Not a lot of 16 Jewels produced.

As always, appreciate Hampden questions, where the database information does not quite "fit"
