ID this KW case button???

I have seem this on moonphase types although to the 11 o'clock side of the stem. Is this for a reset of some kind?

First of all this is not a keywind case, as the case is missing its stem and crown. The button is pushed in with a finger nail and while holding it in turning the crown sets the hands.. Almost like the lever setting function on many watches.. This is a predomitly European watch feature..
