What flavor (model) ST, and do you not have any EW and need to replace one that's missing?

It would be for a S.T. #3. a 36 tooth. No I don't have the original, I'm doing a pendulum change for a mvt. someone switched.

Pendulum change - with the intent of changing rate? You may be looking that this from the wrong angle :) Please elaborate on what you are trying to accomplish with the new EW (curious minds, you know?)

changing the EW to obtain the correct pend. length to fit the case where someone switched the original #3 mvt. with a #1 reg. 62A.

OK - I'm just curious if the EW change (and the matching change of the pallets) is going to be enough to accomplish what you are attempting. How much length difference is there? It seems more logical that other gearing changes would accomplish more than an EW change (unless you are inferring that the pinion ratio would be changing as well. I'd hate to see you spend a lot of money on a new gear only to discover that it does not do what you expected.

I was told in another thread that the EW is the only difference. Of course if the customer chooses the EW change option over an original #3 mvt I would do the math to be certain thats all thats needeed. Iwas wanting price for a new EW.

How much of a change in length do you need. ???
It's takes more than the number of teeth on the EW to change the pendulum length. You also have to take in to account the number of leaves on the EW pinion which in turn will affect the EW revolutions per hour etc.

In this particular case all that needs to be changed is the escape wheel. It will convert the 80 beat movement with a 40 tooth escape wheel that he has now to a 72 beat movement with a 36 tooth escape wheel. For sure the verge will have to be relocated or possibly replace to make this work. The pendulum stick will also have to be lengthened to make it keep time. i have done this type of conversion on many Seth Thomas and Self Winding clocks to get the correct length pendulum for the case I am installing the movement in. Unfortunately I cannot help with the manufacture of the new escape wheel. There are several good horological machinist listed in the NAWCC services section that can do this job. Join the NAWCC and get the help you need.

The weight does not need to be changed. I do not understand why you would think it did.

The possibility of the weight being different comes from the repoduction weights for sale on the market today. A #3 weight is 6.25 lbs while a #1 62a mvt. (what I have) calls for a 5 lb weight.
