I just picked up 4992B # 4C143594. It is in a Keystone silver .800 fine case. The sweep second hand is missing. I compared it to # 4C88345 and noticed a significant difference. The first watch does not have a wheel on the barrel bridge partially above the winding wheel, and it is marked U.S. Govt.
No such marking on the second watch. There is a jewel where the wheel would be. The watch also appears to lack a post for the sweep second hand. Any information would be appreciated.

do you see small drilled holes near the center wheel jewel where the sweep second bridge would be attached?
Is the movement marked 4992B?
Can you post a pic?

The sweep second bridge is still in place. This is not a conversion. The watch is still a 24 hour model. There is no pinion under the sweep second bridge, in fact there is no arbor there either.

it appears then the watch may be missing the parts to operate the sweep second hand.
Can you remove the bezel and back and see light through where the seconds hand would be?
There were some 4992B parts available through dealers here....
i guess this is the information you are looking for....

I have received an e-mail from a member informing me that I am missing the wheel that attaches to the third wheel pinion, and drives the second hand. I am also missing the seconds hand pinion. The little spring is still attached. I have contacted NAWCC member Larry Crutsinger about the parts. Thanks to all of you.
