The movement reads "swiss". The dial reads Bedforde Railroad. I am thinking it might be a private label Canadian watch.

anyone know?

kind regards,

Melus

The Bedforde Railroad watch was a name used by Goldsmith & Co. of Toronto. It was a Calibre 429, Grade 6500 made by Unitas. The watch was approved for service on the Canadian National Railway, but NOT on the Canadian Pacific. Some of these movements were also labeled "Elco".

Further information can be found in the Railroaders Corner column in the June 1999 issue of the NAWCC Bulletin.
