Hello,,
I have what I believe to be a Swiss made, 14K gold, 15 jewel pocket watch in a hunters case. The name on the face is William Wise and sons. Can anyone give me any information about the maker and maybe an approximate value. Thank you, Al

The name William Wise is probably a "private label" The name is not listed in Pritchard.
Many Swiss makers sold watches to retailers either with no name or the retailer's name.
We may be able to give you more information if you can post pictures of the movement (Works) If you want information on the case, we need to see the marks on it.
If it has a gold case you can use Shugart Complete Price Guide to Watches to estimate the value of the case. You will have to use the information to estimate the size of the case. The guide does not reflect spot gold so use the section that estimate weights. It is in pennyweights.
There are 20 pennyweights per oz.
The relation between gold content and price is a deep subject but the gold content establishes a lower limit.
Swiss watches can be difficult to identify so we can not guarantee an ID.
We don't do values here.

William Wise & Sons was a jewelry and silversmith firm in Brooklyn, NY. I do not know if it still exists, but it existed in the 1950s. Wise jewelers goes back to at least the 1890s. There is a rather famous Wise street clock that originally belonged to them. see http://clocks.org/new_york_state/riis_park.html
