Hi,

I read somewhere on this forum that the outer rim of a pocket watch which declines 'into' the case for instance 45 degrees to the dial started at a certain period but cannot find it anymore.
Can anybody give me a link or the date they started making these type of cases?
Easy for determining maximum age ...

I am not sure what you are describing. The reflector ring on open face cases is sloped toward the center of the dial. I think that construction goes back to at least 1880 and probably before that. Here is an example from around 1880.

The rim just outside the hour numerals.
Sure I read it somewhere on here :)
