Another example where a picture from my recent trip to Switzerland mimics one of Sam's postcards...

Apparently the ornate mural has been painted over, but the astronomical clock (below the main dial) and the little Glockenspiel are still operational.
The second and third pictures are of the same clock tower from the opposite direction (note, no astro clock or glockenspiel). I have a better pic from the original direction which I'll post if I find it.

You can't really tell in the postcard or my pictures, but there is an automated figure with a hammer that strikes the bell in the top of the tower. Attracted quite a crowd at 12:00. The steam powered trolley was pretty popular too.
And incidentally, the building visible behind and to the right of the tower in the postcard is now a Bucherer store.
