Hi All,

Would anyone know approximately what time period these types of cases were used?
I picked this up on Ebay and wanted to recase either a 1st Model (1913) or 2nd Model (1918) Hamilton 992.

Art Noueav. 1900 +/- 20 years. You did not give us the size. If it is 16 size then I would lean toward the 1900 to 1920. If 18 size, then perhaps earlier.

Don,

I mentioned recasing a 992 so I thought the case size was self-explanatory. Thanks for your imput.

What is the maker of the case? I have a few that appear original to their movements and if I am remembering right have a very similar look. As soon as I can get to them I'll take a look and post back but in the meantime I'd be interested to hear who your casemaker was.

Fred,

It's a B&B Royal 20 year.

Thanks,

Gary

Whoops, I missed the 992 reference.

I just looked up art nouveav ( I see I also made a typo last time). 1890-1914. That style decoration and the long stem put it in this time period and would be appropriate for an early 992.

Don,

Thanks for your help.

Because the design on the case is asymmetrical, it's hard for me to tell if the back is "straight" or not.

In other words, should the small shield, at 1:00, be even with the pendant?
I'm not familiar enough with this design to tell. My watchmaker says that can be adjusted, without harming the case.

Any input is welcomed.

Since it is assymetric I think it looks pretty nice as it is. I would leave it alone.
