I have a 0s waltham on my bench, serial number 8993041, model 1891. I looked it up on the online database and it came up as "Seaside" grade. The movement is not marked "Seaside".
Could the movement actually be a Seaside grade without being marked as such?
Thanks in advance.

Serial numbers higher than 7,555,000 were combined between similar grades to reduce the number of entries required in the serial number list.
I have seen relatively few watches actually marked Seaside, but lots of runs are designated Seaside. There are also letter designations that go along with the Seaside such as Seaside A or F, etc.
All of the Seasides that I have seen are lower grade unadjusted movements.
If you use the model and grade report and put in % for the model and seaside for the grade, you will see all the variations. There are actually some apparently high grade entries, but I have never seen one.
There is a glitch in the database that causes the Seaside followed by a letter grades to be reported as just the letter if you enter the watch's serial number. I will try to get it fixed.
