Can anyone recommend a good mainspring winder set? I am a beginner, but want to make sure I don't have to upgrade too soon! I was looking at a K&D #128 set that does up to 16MM, but would appreciate other input.
Best regards,
Grant

Take a peek on ebay in the Pocket Watch Tools section - search for mainspring winder. I see two nice ones listed now, and new listings pop up all the time...

Recommendations on mainspring winders have come up a few times in the past, so if you search the threads you should be able find some good advice. For what it's worth (I've been trying my hand at repairs for just under a year now), my personal preference is for the hand-held type, such as the K&D 126, over the type that can fit into a vice, like the 128, becuase it fits in my hand more comfortably. But either should handle most all pocketwatch mainsprings, however, and they're cheap enough that if it no longer suits your needs it's no big deal.
