There are at least three Huguenins:
1.) Hugenin Freres et Cie (based in Le Locle) These people where around until about 1926. Can be dated prior to 1889.
2.) Henri Huguenin lived / worked also in Le Locle Born: 1849 Died: 1906.
3.) Fredric Huguenin: according to www.clocksandwatches.com (http://www.clocksandwatches.com) this is an undocumented maker or retailer.
Generally there is not a whole heck of a lot of information on this name.

You will need to let us know if anything else is marked on the movement.

A thin watch which fits in a "recent" American case, like a Wadsworth is more likely a private label of some type, rather than an early watch.

The Huguenin name is associated with more than 21 watch and clock makers operating in Switzerland since the 18th century.

In concert, Huguenins teamed with Breguet, Courvoisier and Nardin to produce some award winning timepieces. Which Huguenin produced the item in question would require more details.
