Unusual, Beautiful Gruen Pocket Watch

The decorative Gruens are not generally considered the top of the line. The two top models were the Dietrich Gruen up/down and related complicated watches with repeating works and the Gruen 50th Anniversary Watch.

These pictures of the 50th Anniversary are a bit old and not well done.

From your links, the orginial receiptants of the 50 year watch were well documented.

My example does not have the signed certificate, but the watch has a presentation design on the back that reads "Jimmie Elder from Mother 1925." It has a matching pocket knife also.

Incidently, from your link, this watch was around $50 to purchase new in 1929.
