Greetings Clock-people:
After having worked on watches for the past 4-5 years, I just took apart my first clock and cleaned it. The clock had been stopping and my wife got sick of looking at a non-running clock.
Once apart, I noticed that the suspension spring was bent. I believe that I must've been the culprit when I recently removed the pendulum to "take a look around". It's my understanding that stopping will occur with a kinked suspension spring. Anyway, I ordered the spring from LaRose and hope to complete the service next week.
The rear plate of the movement has no name on it but does have what looks to be a jumping reindeer engraved in it near the bottom. Can someone tell me anything about this manufacturer? I will say that before I botched up the susupension spring, it was a very accurate timekeeper. It has a gridirion type pendulum and has a striking mechansism. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
