My English watchmaker is unable to find a replacement part for my Waltham pocket watch. Serial number is 6396615. It is Model 88 No. 20. Can any of you people help me?

Many thanks, Jerry

If your watch is open face, the part you are looking for is 2782 and you will find one at http://www.execulink.com/~lfoord/index/waltham.htm (http://www.execulink.com/%7Elfoord/index/waltham.htm)

If you watch is a hunter, then you are looking for 2783 (Clutch Spring). Uncle Larry does not seem to have one of these.

This is a fairly common movement so parts should be available. Mike probably has you set up already.

For future reference, you can try posting a want ad here on the NAWCC eMart (http://www.nawccemart.com/). However, although it is free, you must be an NAWCC member to read or post.

I have found the Web Horology "Items Wanted" (http://whmb.webhorology.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3) section to be a huge help. It may be because it is free without any membership strings to post or view (and therefore fulfill a request).
CCWatchmaker.com (http://www.ccwatchmaker.com/) is another free and successful venue.

Good Luck!

Many thanks Mike, Don and Wes for offer of help and information. If there is anything I can do or you gentlemen from this side of the Atlantic, I will be more than happy to do so.
