Replacement Crystals

Has anyone had any personal dealings with Cazadero Railroad Crystals? Positive or negative. Ever seen any of his finished work?

I have.

I got quite a few replaced for my pocket watches. Seems good crystal quality, professional installation, prices are reasonable but hard to reach, sometimes takes long to complete the order. The guy is working alone in the shop so be patient and you should be satisfied with the end result.

I just received some bezels back from Cazadero Railroad Crystal Co. The crystals were expertly fitted and the glass indeed seems quality optical grade (Cazadero's claim) with no imperfections. Absolutely "crystal clear". He will fit the crystals for free if you send in your bezel or case. From the time I sent in my order to the time I got it back was around a month. His price on the crystal style (CX) that will fit most watches is extremely reasonable. For some larger 18s crystals or the thick beveled flat tops found on earlier keywinds does it start getting pretty spendy. And if you have a verge fusee that needs a custom domed crystal, be prepared to pay. This company is the only one around that I know of that will custom grind glass for a rare watch. So yeah, it takes a little while to get your order back but altogether I've been very pleased with what I've gotten back. Cazadero's crystals are a definite upgrade over some of the original New Old Stock stuff I've seen out there.

I would agree with buba and Freddy. Great crystals and excellent installation. I sent in an 18S tripple hinged case since the bezel can't be removed easily. All came back expertly installed. The glass is very high quality. It was about a three week turnaround.

I've sent many watch cases to Bill that were in need of new crystals and they've come out GREAT! No problems.

Price, quality, serivce is unsurpassed!

Great quality and he'll install the crystals free if you send him the watch case.

Like someone else mentioned, its not a super fast turnaround because he's alone doing the job, but its well Worth the wait when you get the watch case back!

Thanks to all who have replied! I WAS getting a little concerned because of the time factor. It would be truly disconcerting to find he wasn't for real(most of the time, if it sounds too good to be true---it is!) and the watch world would be less for the loss. . .

Anyway, thanks for the reassurance. I am readying several more for the journey to Cazadero!
