Hi Folks
I have just acquired a Waltham Railroad King Special. It is 18sz,15j,model 83,pendent set,sn# 4679203.It housed in a 4oz Waltham coin silver open face case. The dial is marked "American Waltham Watch Co" and "For R.R. Service" above the seconds bit,DS roman numeral dial.
Could any one give me more information on this watch. There is not a lot of information written about this watch. It could be a model 25,or 35,or PSB?How many were made?Who used it,jeweler or railroad company?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.I can download images upon request. Thanks Watch Nut

That entry in the handwritten records for serial number run for 4,678,501 to 4,680,000 and the entry in the Waltham serial number list for repair service both say it is a Grade 25. The run was in production from June 1891 to August 1892 as near as I can make out. Stem Wind, open face, nickel with 4 pairs of extra jewels (e.g. 15 jewel).

Hi ! You have a very nice watch there. In your posting, you said that you could download pictures. Yours sounds like it might be an interesting watch to show in the Railroaders' Corner column in the NAWCC Bulletin. Would you be willing to send high-resolution pictures/scans of the movement and dial to me for use in the column?
