I’m looking for a large clock spring and the usual supply houses, including LaRose do not stock it, not even over-size.

In inches, the size is: Strength: .023, Width: 1 inch, Length: 129.

The old “PM” material catalog from about 30 years ago has one listed in the American Clock Spring section as # PM-CS AM69, it is exactly what I need except it is 150 inches long. The type of end is not important, I will have to alter it anyway. The barrel it will fill has an inside diameter of 2 2/3 inches (about 69MM). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, Greg, (this may make no sense at all), but the first thing that came to mind when reading those dimensions was the springs used in recoil type starters for small engines, like lawn mowers, snowmobiles, etc. They may be too big, but what the heck, you usually don't have to go too far to find a defunct lawnmower for research. Of course, the lady of the house forbids me to go to the dump anymore.
