Watch nutt,
I cannot tell you the production figures, but a relatively small number of Hamilton 946 and 947's were marked "EXTRA" for A.N. Anderson, Minneapolis, Minn. and have a dial marked "A.N. Anderson, Extra".
In regards to the location of the markings, I can recall examples marked at the top of the barrel bridge and others marked on the side of the barrel bridge - around the plate screw.
These were essentially private label watches for A.N. Anderson who was one of Hamilton's larger customers. I have also seen 946's marked A.N. Anderson, Minneapolis Minn. on the dial and movement as well as a fair number of 16 and 18 size dials marked "A.N. Anderson, Standard Time".
