Are there any written records of when the first silveroid cases or nickel ones appeared on the market?

Peter:
Although there are probably earlier documents, I can start things off with a short note from old ref::October, 1890.

Here's a slightly earlier one, an 1888 Keystone ad (link below) mentioning their Silveroid cases.

Thanks very much for digging that up, Kent.
Fahy's Oresilver cases are stamped "pat. feb. 19.1884" so that would be earlier still.

Peter,
Are you sure that the 1884 pat date on the Fahys cases refers to the metal alloy and not something else? I recall seeing this date on non-silveroid cases as well, but it will take a little looking to confirm. Also, there may be some info on silveroid from 1882 or so in an old magazine around here somewhere and I'll try to find it and pass the info along.
Happy Holidays,

Peter,
I have a catalog from 1886 that mentions silveroid cases by the Keystone Watch Case Co.
