In connection with the question about his "Wm. Eberly" swiss fake, Tom ("time off") also sent the picture below to me for posting. In the Eberly thread, he wrote that the watch pictured below "has on the back case cover GUGU 5038. On the watch works, the name on it is Johan Mayer and Regensburg. The pillar legs (5) look like notched columns, wider on the bottom. I don't see any hallmarks. The watch is also in a seperate case that comes completely off. Can anyone help me with indentification and any other info? Thanks And Merry Christmas everyone!"

Can anyone help him further identify what he has?

That's a German verge fusee.
You state it has another case, that would make it a paircase verge fusee.
I guess it dates back to 1780 / 1800.
