Hi All:

This is probably old hat to most of you, but I found a couple of archived movies, downloadable at the link below, concerning the Hamilton Watch Company.

http://www.archive.org

Use the "Search" function and type in "How A Watch Works", and "What Makes A Fine Watch Fine?". Both were made in the late '40's and are really entertaining to view. Two things though;

1) The files are HUGE; you'll need at least a DSL or Broadband connection, and...

2) You'll probably have to download Quicktime;

http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download

in order to watch them; Windows Media Player is pretty much useless. I downloaded the mpeg4 versions, which are much smaller than the mpeg2's.

A bit of a hassle but well worth the results. I'd be interested in your comments; these are also avaliable on ebay but, hey, free is better. :wink:

It is interesting that you posted this information today. I found the tapes on eBay, but will take a look at the links you posted.

I appreciate your sharing this with us.

Hey Timebuilder,
would you send one of your watches to Germany?
