The following report was received and posted by NAWCC NEWS for your information.
The Boston area seminar of last weekend was a financial and educational
success.
Members of Chapters 174 and 8 hosted a very well presented education
regarding the Boston area watchmaking firms of the late 19th century and
early 20th century, including as well talks on the origins of automated
watchmaking equipment and the impact of automated watchmaking on the
British watchmaking industry. This was followed by a tour of the
watchmaking historical sites in Waltham Mass. and a reception at the
Charles River Museum of Industry. 104 attended. Everyone seemed to have
a good time, including the organizers. Clint Geller's leadership in this
effort was particularly notable.
Best Wishes,
Doug Cowan
