Happy Holidays everybody
I was just given an Illinois Watch Case Co watch for Christmas. It appears to be about a size 16, SW/SS with a S# 3024350. The case is a sterling hunter. As you can see by the attached pictures in this posting and the next the dial is in bad condition. Can anyone give me any information on this watch?

I just realized that I provided some wrong information. The watch is not SW/SS. It is SW/LS.
Sorry about that!

Jim,
When I first looked at the picture, I thought 1888 Waltham. It's not that. I checked the Ehrhardt & Meggers American Pocket Watch ID & Price guide for Illinois Watch Case Co., and it lists watches with this name in 16-size with Illinois movements, but it's not an Illinois. There is also a Trenton listed in 16-size, and while yours bears some earmarks with the Trenton, there's enough difference that I'm not sure it's a Trenton, either. I am unable to read the S# in the picture. Is the number you gave from the movement, or the case? If the latter, please supply the movement S#. Or if there is anyone who is less confused about the identity of this one than I am, please tell us what it is.

Doug the S# is from the movement.

Not an Illinois! We cannot believe everything we read!
