Can anyone enlighten me about Bunn Special cases? I am specifically interested in finding out if a model 118 case that has a Bunn Special 163 movement in it should be marked Bunn Special.
Thanks for your help.

118 case..... "triangular bow"..
these were not marked "bunn special", only with the casemaker mark
it looks very similar to some cases elgin used also, but the bow is wider
they were usually used on some of the last produced movements.... or near end anyway.

Ticker,
It depends. Many of the later 163 movements, usually marked "A", manufactured by Hamilton came in these unmarked "118" cases, presumably because Hamilton ran out of marked Bunn cases. I believe that all of the few 161B watches probably should be in these cases too. I doubt that anyone really knows the serial number range where they started using these cases, but most knowledgable collectors will say that these cases are right for the later movments.

you are welcome..
to clarify, the 163A is the movement "usually" seen in these cases and possibly 161A
I would also agree on the 161B, but there are just not too many examples to compare eh??
Have any of the members seen this case marked 'bunn special'?
