Hi Scott:

Welcome to the NAWCC Pocket Watch Message Board!

This series of watches (whose numbers start at 1001) was built starting in 1921. Their story is told in “The Howard Ten Size Watch,” Arthur N. Borg, NAWCC Bulletin No. 129 (August 1967): pp.941-64. Valuations for these can be found in “Complete Price Guide to Watches, No 24,” C. Shugart, T. Engle and R. Gilbert, Cooksey Shugart Publications, Cleveland, TN, 2004 (a new edition comes out each year in February. This book is available at libraries, most major bookstores and online at the NAWCC Gift Shop (http://www.nawcc.org/giftshop/americart/bk_watch.htm) - edition No. 24 is pictured, but ask about edition No. 25).

Good luck,

Wes

I am not too well versed on the "Keystone Howards", but is the case marked with its metal content?
To me, if I saw a Keystone Howard with a case silver in color, I would think it was actually white gold or white gold filled. Hamilton made a few that were actually platinum, but I am not sure that Keystone Howard did.
It may be marked on the inside cover of the case.

(I did mention that I am not too well versed on these Keystone Howards right? )
