I am not sure whether this belongs here or in the clock forum (someone please let me know!).

But I am looking for a source for the amplitude corrector for a Hamilton 21 Marine Chronometer.

Thanks in advance!

Larry Crutsinger has most of the old Hamilton factory stock. Try http://www.militarywatchmuseum.com/

Hmmm there old geezer smith, reckon it is related to an attitude adjuster...ha ha

possibly a regulator??

Thanks Tom!

The amplitude regulator did just that. From what I can tell, there is no analogue for it in normal pocket watches. The balance wheel of a marine chronometer has an impulse jewel and an exit jewel. The amplitude regulator may function as more of a banking curb pin?

I wish I could explain it. I just know what I am looking for!

Thanks again,

Dan

The type I am most familiar with is a stud attached to the hairspring that banks against a protrusion on the balance cock. The little stud is effectively part of the hairspring.

I haven't looked in the repair manual. What does the one on the model 21 look like?

I was given the following web site to persue. It is most helpful in terms if identifying the parts. Hamilton museum (http://www.militarywatchmuseum.com/index.html)
