Wadsworth cases were made from 1889 to 1951 according to "Trademarks, watch cases, pocket watches, precious stones and Diamonds by Roy Ehrhardt self published by Heart of America Press.

Like all Ehrhardt works this has a lot of information. The wach case section is well orgainized but the rest is a hodge podge but still worth taking the time.

I have seen a lot of Hamilton 12 size watches in Wadsworth cases from the 1920's.

Pictures with some reference to determine the size would help date by style.

Heart of America has a website so you can find them with a simple search.

BTW Wadsworth is American. This means that it is 13.5 Karat gold as the US allows 1/2 Karat underage, only plce in the world that allows this.

There are a lot of marks that look like they mean gold or solid gold but could be gold fill. If you post the marks we can tell.

They also did a lot of solid 14 K whiote gold cases so that too is possible.

Joan:

You can view a 1903 ad showing several of Wadsworth's trade marks at:
http://elginwatches.org/scans/misc_ads/1903/m_wadsworth.html
(you should copy this link and paste it in your browser address bar since directly linking to this website from the NAWCC Message Board is not possible)

Good luck,
