I'm am curious to know if anyone is aware of any factory example of model 77s or 79s with a stop feature? How about non-factory? What about model 83s?

Regards,
Mike

I am guessing you mean a hack mechanism rather than stopworks on the mainsrping barrel. I don't recall seeing this except on the Chronodrometer although it may be fitted to some examples sold in the UK.

I seem to recall Jon Hanson posting pictures of a Mod 83 with a stop feature that worked off of pressure on the balance wheel.

I found Jon's post on the Mod 83 with the hack feature. It was on chapter 149 ,March 21, 2002, Under the title: "Has anyone ever seen one of these?" I don't know how to post the link, sorry.

Tom,

Yes, I think it's a hack feature, definitely not a stopworks.

ckeithjohnson,

Great info, thanks! I didn't remember this one until you brought it up but unfortunately, it's different than what I'm looking for.

Regards,
Mike
