Thanks to Jerry Matthews for providing info on this english verge. Jerry, you were correct the Birmingham hallmark is an X. Watchmaker you identified from Loomes as Benjamin Farrer of Pontefract 1810 to 1866 and case maker Hannah Howard 1821(Birmingham X inner/outer case). She's running and timing well (not fast or slow). Thanks for the help Jerry. Picture stuff is killing me.

Always happy to share what little knowledge I have, Keith.
Not bad for a watch of that age to be running well and timing well.
All the best,
Jerry

Thanks Jerry, It's been running now for 6 hours right on the money. This is also my lowest serial number of any watch. Thanks for sharing knowledge.

Same here Kenny. I encourage others to look at Kenny's verge "on oldest watch you carry post". She's a beauty.
Jerry asked for the listing number after the auction for case hallmark. I new with him living in the UK he would get a kick out of the listing since it was described as a Swiss Verge.

Keith,
I know you said it was timing right on the money. This must be a real good quartz retrofit, as I can't even see the new quartz movement in the photos!
Seriously though, what a nice old watch and your photos are getting better every time! Thanks for sharing!

Wes, you service my Early American key winds and lever sets. I'm just now going through the select few that will work on Verges.
Thanks Wes

Had to shut it down and advance the tompion regulator disk (clockwise) one full number as it was running slow. Seems to have worked. It's now close two minutes a day slow and I'll leave well enough alone.

Keith, I would be very happy with two minutes a day from a watch of that age. Like you rightly say, leave well enough alone.
Cheers,
Jerry
Hey, wish England well in the opening World Cup match this afternoon. Though I know this is of marginal interest over there in the States
