I ran across the movement pictured in #1 at a regional. No engraving No serial number. pic #2 shows where the number is on another 16s 17 jewel Rockford.

I have since sold the 2 movements, to a forum member I think,, but as I was cleaning out pics, I was just wondering.. A put together or what?

The first picture looks like an unfinished movement that was jeweled and assembled outside the factory. There seeem to have survived, from most of the American factories, a few unfinished movements "in the gray", although most that I have seen have had a serial number already.
