Yes--all of the feet positions (three) are the same for 18s Hamiltons, OF or HC.
Good luck with your switch. Make sure the CP is inplace and watch out for flying hands!

Thanks Jon! in your opinion (an approximation) what is an average 14k solid gold size 18 case worth?

Would you happen to know when Hamilton changed their dial from roman to arabic numerals?

500000 is approx serial number that Hamilton changed from "Hamilton Watch Co." to "Hamilton" and many Hamilton dials have been switched over the years so there will be thousands of wrong matches. I would have to go through my huge Hamilton reference library for a closer date and I might sometime in the future when I have extra time --remind me.

BTW, what are the types and serial numbers of the mov'ts for which you are switching the dials?
Hi Hamilton_Novice:
Welcome to the NAWCC Pocket Watch Message Board!
One of the important things that Jon didn't mention is that the No. 941 was factory-fit with a double sunk dial, which is what you should be looking for. The No. 925 was furnished with a single sunk dial which won't be correct for the No. 941.
Another thing to consider is that up to about 1919, the "Hamilton" signature on the dial is in script. This is just about the time that the No. 941 went out of production, so it would be very unlikely to have the "Hamilton" signature in block lettering.
Good luck,
Jon Hanson

Sorry, Kent, but we do not know what his 925 mov't has for a dial??? It could be anything inc DS--remember or reread as I already asked that question!
He asked about fit, not correctness; and about signatures, NOT sinking!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry Jon:<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">It could be anything inc DS--remember or reread as I already asked that question! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>I didn't remember, so I had to go back and look - Oops, I couldn't find it.
Maybe you meant to ask "... sometime in the future when I have extra time ...

I couldn't find his question about signatures either. Perhaps you sometimes read too much into what's written in these posts or mean to say something different than what you actually write.

Roman dials were falling out of favor during the first decade of the 20th century (which is when sales of hunting-case watches started to really drop), although it would be correct for any given No. 941 to have one. Roman or Arabic would have been a matter of personal choice when the watch was first purchased. What's the serial number of your watch?

Jon, the 941 serial #419xxx, 925 #219xxx. The 941 has a conversion metal dial with seconds at 3:00 position.
Kent, thanks for enlightening me on the dial correctness for the 925 is a single sunk dial.

How bad is the 925 dial--Roman, Arabic, Script, block signature?
(Personally, I would not use a metal conversion dial--why not seek a correct one?)

Oops! forgot to mention the 925 is a single sunk roman dial.
Jon Hanson

These dials should have signatures that read as "Hamilton Watch Co." for these movements.
Jon Hanson
08-25-2005, 02:34 PM
BTW, I am pretty sure the metal dial does not read as my last post.

Jon, that's my plan to remove the metal dial and use a porcelain dial, though the dial from the 925 is single-sunk and roman.
Jon Hanson
08-25-2005, 02:37 PM
I would prefer to have the SS Roman than the metal one anyday--how is the porcelain SS one signed?
Hamilton_Novice
08-25-2005, 02:43 PM
Exactly, BTW while I was responding to your previous post I didn't get a chance to read your next post. The 925 porcelain dial does read Hamilton Watch Co. The metal dial reads Hamilton in block lettering.
