Greetings Pastor Ken!

Sorry, don't know any online source of general information about this firm, but if you can beg, borrow or steal (Oooops - Sorry Pastor!) a copy of "The Watch that made the Dollar Famous" by Col. Geo. Townsend, you will find almost everything you need to know about Ingraham, and 'Dollar' watches in general.

In the meantime, you may be interested to learn that the E.Ingraham Company produced approximately 65M pocket watches between 1913 and 1968/70, making them one of the major manufacturers of inexpensive, unjeweled watches, i.e., 'Dollar' watches.

Many collectors look down their noses at 'Dollar' watches, a blinkered approach in my humble opinion. Any piece of machinery sold for a buck (or even less) that is still operating satisfactorily up to a hundred years later is surely worth preserving? As your watch is part of your family history, I'm sure you will agree with that view.

Does your watch have another name on the dial in addition to "Ingraham"? I have two examples of this company, one a 'St Regis' model, the other a 'Biltmore'. One last thought... have you looked inside your watch? You will almost certainly find a date: for instance "3 42" would indicate March 1942.

Cheers!
