I am looking for some one who is up on Rockford pocket watches. I have one but can not find anything in my books that tell me what I have.
It is a key wind, key set, open face, coin silver keystone case with dust cover, a snap on crystal, and Rockford Watch Co. Illinois on the dial. The dial is single sunk.
The movement is gilded, and has a privet name on the plates. If you hold the watch with the stem down it looks like the watch on page 346 of the complete price guide to Watches. It is the one that is right of the serial #'s and dates. Wait Dewey & Co. is above the balance wheel. The serial # is 8893 and to the right of the timing bar as in the picture. At the bottom under the winding stud is the town Ravenna, O. To the right of the winding stud is the letter C with a parentheses sign over and under it. There is one screw holding the movement in the case. It is next to the serial number and the screw that holds the plates together., next to the hinge for the back cover.
The balance wheel, and bridge look the same as the picture in the book. It has the same design on it.
It has only lost 1/2 minute in 24 hours. I have not worked on it so that is how I got it.
If you can help me or know of someone who can help me would you please let me know.
