Kirsten:

Instead of starting a new thread, a post with new infromation can be added to an existing discussion by clicking on the "Reply" button at the lower right-hand corner of the last post. This will open a box for a post that will be added to the bottom of the thread.

Authors may remove their erroneous (or otherwise unwanted) posts by clicking on the Edit icon (the picture of the file and pencil eraser) at the lower right-hand corner of the undesired post. When the box opens, click on the "<span class="ev_code_red">Delete Message...?</span>" link at the lower right-hand side of the box.

Hi

I can tell you a little.

The various marks in the case state that it is 80% silver. The inner cover is probably gold plated brass. Some of the marks are hallmarks probably German certifying htat the metal really is 80% silver.

Its a medium grade movement of a style that is fairly common. It is low end version having a solid, probably gold balance, as opposed to a better bimetallic temperature compensated balance which was used in better watches.

It is pin set. Push in the small pin near the winder to set it.

It looks like a 15 jewel movement but may be less since we can only see one side and some makers only jeweled on the side that is visible.

As a guess the date of manufacture is probably between 1870 and 1900.

Good, Jon, but in my opinion I think it is 1890-1900. Possibly the "gold" portion is very low carat, i.e. 8K.
