Is there a sourch that will tell me which balance staffs of each pw model has a friction fit? I can press out the old staff and put in a new one. Any tips? Thanks

The best source of the kind of information I think you are looking for is the American Pocket & Wrist Watch Balance Staff Interchangeability List by Col. George Townsend. If it is still available, it would be from Roy Ehrhardt. Other horological book sellers may also have it available. It doesn't restrict itself to friction staffs alone, but the friction staff information is there.
