I read on a website that it "rare" to find this watch in an original case. Were all cased in 14K? I hesitate to say it is "mint" following the discussion on another posting, so I will just say "pristine", at least the case. Movement probably needs cleaning. Anyway, your opinions please.
Thanks.

I would expect most of the solid gold ones have been melted down over the years.
I believe these were in silver cases as well.
They are certainly hard to find in their original cases.

Vein,

Most are in solid gold cases either 10, 14, or 18k... I have had them in coin Silver and even one in a J. Boss gold filled openface case. Your appears to be a very nice one.. Most did not see much wear as they were not used as an every day watch most times..Very many were given to ladies and again not used daily.. While these are not easily found, the American Watch Co 10 size keywind are a bit harder to find..cased...The last thing is if they are not in the original case, they are probably not in a case..the movemnt will be loose.
