possibilities:

recase it again

use a glass back

use a mov't container

locate a HC with the same case screw marks (83s have basically two types) and AKE a switch and match up the case screw marks and ruin another original watch!

Or, leave it alone?

Bob:

Welcome to the NAWCC Pocket Watch Message Board.

Everybody and his (or her) brother wants 18-size hunting cases for their movements that are either in beat cases, open-face cases, or are uncased. If you're up in Alaska, your best method will probably be trying to buy a case on eBay.

As Jon pointed out, unless you have a real buring desire to place your movement in a hunting-case, you'd probably be better off leaving it the way it is now. If your current case doesn't have another set of case screw marks in it, the movement may have been put in that case originally.

Good luck,
Kent
