Well, I don't know anything about Wittenaur pocket watches, so I couldn't tell you where to find the serial number. It should be SOMEWHERE on the movement, though....
As for the marks on the case, those are most likely jeweler's marks, left there when the watch was repaired or serviced to indicate what was done and, I believe, by whom.
