I'm gradually growing into the 21st century and have reached the point that I want a digital inventory of my pocket watch collection. Will someone help me with suggestions about software which makes it easy to build such an inventory? Thanks.

There is a person out of Alaska I bought my inventory program from. It is called WatchWare.
He can be found here:

Hi Joe,
If you don't need complex search/query functions it's not too hard to develop your own. I have a simple nine column layout with an 8 1/2"x 11" horizonal format using the table function in Microsoft Word. It is very flexible, a row of data is added for a new watch, and a row is moved to the sold section if that occurs. I maintain a seperate table document for each manufacturer. At the moment they have descriptive text only, but I'm considering expansion to a 10 column 8 1/2"x 14" format. This would allow adding one or more thumbnail, enlargable photos of each movement.
If my current format sounds like something you'd like to try I can send a sample page to get you started. Let me know your email address.

There is an e-bayer who sells collection software that looks really excellent. While I haven't used it, it is flexible and can be used for nearly any type of collectible, and you can insert photos, data regarding purchase, values, etc. I'll see if I can find him and get back to you. It's really cheap, too.

Here is the link to an ebay-er with what looks like a very complete package for only $25.00

http://cgi.ebay.com/Software-x-Jewels-INVENTORY-BE-ABLE...QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com/Software-x-Jewels-INVENTORY-BE-ABLE-TO-FILE-INS-CLAIMS_W0QQitemZ8925613144QQcategoryZ494QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem)

The above program is very configurable and has a demo program available.

There is also another vendor for another collector's program that is somewhat more expensive, in the same e-bay section.

Harold,

Could you elaborate on your experience with the use of this software? Thank you in anticipation.
