Silent Auction of Library Duplicates now underway

The Library Committee would like to draw your attention to an often forgotten Member Benefit: The right to participate in the periodic silent auctions to dispose of items not needed in the collection of our Library and Research Center.

If an used book appears in these auctions it means we already have a sufficient number of copies in the research library and in the lending library (i.e. at least 2 copies). These auctions are carried out for the sole benefit of the "Library Acquisition Account", every dollar you spend at this auction will be used to buy more new items for the library. Items are mostly from donations and bequests of members. (In some cases items may have Library stamps, which means that we have been able to replace a worn library copy with a "better" donated copy, allowing the worn copy to be sold at auction)

The current listing of items for Sale is in the April 2002 issue of THE MART and bids must be received by mail or fax before June 3, 2002.

Many of the items are out-of-print or rare. This round includes a rare british book over 150 years old!!

Make use of your member benefits: Participate in the Silent Auction (see page 61ff, April 2002 MART MAgazine) --
