View Full Version : Glass for Ansonia Mantel
I need to replace the glass in the bezel of an Ansonia Mantel clock. There is a soldered on retainer ring to hold the glass and the diameter looks to be 5". Doesn't look like a convex or beveled glass will fit. So does it take a flat piece? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Chup,
I would suggest that you measure the depth of the bezel. If it is 1/2" deep, + or - a bit, you will probably be able to get away with a flat glass. Domed glasses are usually used where clearance for the hands might be a problem. Of course one might prefer a convex glass even if hand clearance is NOT a problem. What it boils down to I guess is whatever pleases you.

Thanks Doug. I will try the flat as I have just a 1/2" depth.
