Hello...are Gold FILLED cases less likely to wear through to some other metal or color then Gold plated or Gold rolled pocketwatch cases? Can you "over polish" a Gold filled case? Thanks. Robert email rraucher@maxinet.com

Yes, Gold filled is best, rolled is next, then plated.
Polish all of them as little as possible, as you are indeed wearing off the gold.
Some others may chime in here - there are some methods of polishing that are less destructive than others.

Dont polish gold. No polish, No polish wear. Plus some of mine look kind of funky cool with a green ring around them.

gold plated are only microns thick, the rolled gold are substantially thicker, the gold filled are thicker yet, depending on the quality of the case with a "permanent" case being the thickest. When the rules for marking cases changed about 1924 from a "years" guarentee to a 10K, 14k etc, I do not know how the quality of the cases relate directly, except for relating RGP to GF
+++ on all the above, the thickness is referring to the thickness of the gold over the base metal ++++++
