I took out some of my watches and took pictures with that "toss away" camera, and will process them tomorrow. Cross your fingers for me.

I ALSO found some watches I forgot about, here they are. (Some I may have mentioned) ??

1869 Elgin FRY SN 91845 18s National Watch Co.

1885 Elgin SN 1883997 8s Elgin on dial (Fancy)

Waltham SN 25834645

Waltham SN 5607900 1892-93 ? American Waltham

1884 Waltham SN 2173647 Royal

1925 Elgin SN 28316574

I also found a watch ring (pretty nice, and it works too)

And last, about 8-10 wristwatches that I tossed in a box for later, and found that some WORK!
These were from multiple buys, I take out the ones I want, and pack the rest in a box for later, it's so fun to go back and find a little gem in the toss outs!

So if this junk camera will let me have just ONE decent picture, I will be thrilled, but since it says that you have to be 4' away, I'm not holding my breath.

Bless,
Sheila

Shiela,

You are right to not hold your breath. To get good photos of watches you need one of two features... zoom or macro. Disposable cameras do not offer either feature, so it is virtually assured that your pictures will all be worthless... and I'm not trying to be mean-spirited by saying that.

Greg I know you are right, I just got frustrated at trying to get my 2 digitals to work, so I had to do something, and that camera has been sitting around forever, so I used it. Don't worry though, not a total loss, I got pictures of my sweet hubby in his underware too. Thanks for the camera information, I am looking at new ones now.

Steven, Thank you so much for the post, that was so kind. Now I can just put that in my file for reference.

Bless,
Sheila

I am glad for you your "hubby" is sweet and I am glad for you you took pictures of him in his underwear. Truly exciting and pertinant!

Sheila

Your welcome.

You can look up any Waltham serial numbers with the on-line database (http://www.nawcc-info.org/WalthamDB/LookupSN.asp) .

A lot of work went into putting the hand written records and the gray book in an on-line database. There are errors in it that were carried over from the records, from input error, and from hard to read records. With some of the hard to read records, information was either not entered, or the best guess was used with a consensus from all the people entering the data. I think Tom McIntyre is still correcting data as any errors are identified.

Hi Steve,

Still correcting errors and still processing observations. As people enter the information from their watches, I check it over and merge it into the database from time to time.

When you are able to post your own pics, please skip the ones of hubby.

Thanks, Charlie
