Hello,
I purchased this 8 days Waltham today. Of course, it's technically a clock but given the mechanical configuration I thought pw enthusiast could shed some light on its origin. The car clocks I have seen wind at 6 o'clock, yet this one winds at 12. A database search yielded little info for the serial number(19918208) so would anyone know the original application for this watch/clock? thanks for any info

All Waltham travel clocks that I have seen have a 2-5/16" dial. Unless I am mistaken this dial is the 2-3/4" dial. The size of the dial and the bezel configuration suggest to me that this was more likely in an instrument panel, perhaps from a car or boat. I have seen both travel and car clocks wind at 6 or 12.
