From NAWCC NEWS:

The NAWCC Council has approved the renaming of the NAWCC Seminar to be henceforth known as:

The Ward Francillon Time Symposium---- Sponsored by the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc.

In the late 1970's Mr. Francillon worked to establish an educational seminar within our Association. The first one was held at King of Prussia PA in 1980 and was established as an annual event by 1981. Under Ward's continuing
leadership as President of the NAWCC and as Chairman of the Seminar Committee until 1995, he successfully pursued his vision of the Seminar as a premiere educational event, sponsored and run each year by like minded individual volunteers in the regional Chapters of the Association.

In 1984, New York University transferred part of the James Arthur horological collection to the NAWCC with the proviso that this Association
take responsibility for the annual James Arthur horology lecture. Ward quickly added this lecture to the growing tradition of the NAWCC Seminar and
this James Arthur lecture has since been the keynote lecture at each Seminar and has featured many distinguished speakers.

Mr. Francillomn has been awarded the Star Fellow award for outstanding efforts on behalf of this Association but even more he is known for his
untiring efforts on behalf of our research and education efforts. It is the NAWCC Council's great privilege to honor Ward in this way.

Sincerely, Doug
Cowan, President NAWCC
