Wayne or anybody,
What do you know about the production history of this dial http://www.interstatetime.com/Elgins/Elgin150-Dial.htm
This is the dial from the first run gr150 I posted the other day. I am not an Elgin expert, but I have seen only one other of these dials and an Elgin expert friend of mine says this pattern must only have been made for a short time.
I really like the dial. What do you know about it?

John,
I recall Elgin #6349919 having the same style dial (though it was not in the best condition).

I took note of the Elgin dial pix. I have a watch with the same dial. It's on a model 2, full plate, gilt, 15J, BW Raymond, SN 4898060. I have no way of knowing whether this dial is original to this watch. Tom

Tom,
I have several grade 70 BW Raymond movements but none of them have as late a serial number as yours. The later ones do have screws to hold the dial instead of pins, like the early ones, so I guess this dial could be original. All of this grade I have seen has the "Elgin Natl. Watch Co." in light script, like the regular old BWR gilt plates did.
I went to the serial number look-up page of Wayne's great website http://www.midwestcs.com/elgin/databases/elgin_sn_intro.html and looked up your watch. One of the great things about this site is that Wayne lists all the examples of a grade which have been seen on eBay. Unfortunatly, it is not possible to tell whether any of these had this dial. Maybe Wayne remembers.
Anyway, Thanks for all the posts,
John Cote http://www.interstatetime.com

John, Thank you for the info. I'm still learning just how much info there is on Wayne's site. Much work put into it. Thanks for the effort, Wayne
