Sorry to say that Ehrhardt and Meggers report this to be a Swiss Fake of a Mdl '57 Waltham.
Happy to help.
Cheers,

That's sweese cheese but not uncollectable. There's a guy in our club
who collected Swiss fake model '57
Walthams. I suppose general advice
would be to collect whatever you like. Heck, these should be pretty cheap and
they do have their place in history. Go for
good runners in good condition. The competition for Swiss fake stuff is low so
be picky. Common 7 jewel American watches bring about what the 23 jewel Swiss fakes bring. I'd rather have a classy Swiss fake quite honestly.

It'd always been a mystery to me that high quality key wind Swiss watches are sought after when they are overtly Swiss, but become unwanted dogs when they are American styled. Some of the Swiss fakes are trash, but some are better than any Waltham. Go figure...

I might accept "Better than the Waltham they are faking," but "Better than any Waltham" clearly cannot apply. There is no Swiss watch in a fake American style with an American name that can begin to compare with any of the American Grade Walthams.
I have seen "English fake" 1857 model Walthams that are better than any real 1857 model.
