From contemporary ads, the Fahys "Monarch" was 14 Kt gold filled. :smile:

I have a pocket watch that has a Fahys case--and it has the original paper in the back that says
Fahys 14k Monarch
This case is made of 2 sheets of solid 14k gold stiffened by a sheet of hard metal between
We guarantee it to wear for 21 years
and then signed Joseph Fahys and Co
